Grilled Corn Toppings

Grilled corn topped with a generous pat of melting butter and showered with flaky salt may be a nearly perfect food. If you’re in the mood for something a little different, we’ve put together a list of suggestions for your next grilled corn adventures:
Favorite grilled corn toppings and pairings:
  • Go herbaceous with a compound butter of garlic and fresh leafy garden herbs. Think basil, or chives, or try tarragon - it’s a great corn friend!
  • Incorporate Japanese flavors with a pat of butter, a drizzle of tamari, and a sprinkle of Shichimi Togarashi (Japanese seven spice)
  • Make elote, a Mexican street corn preparation. Slather with mayo mashed with garlic, cilantro, chile powder, and crema if you’re feeling extravagant. Top with crumbled cotija and a big squeeze of lime
  • Take flavor inspiration from Italy to make a corn salad with diced zucchini, marjoram or mint, and shaved ricotta salata; or maybe you’d like to try it with tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella, drizzled with fruity olive oil and a splash of bracing red wine vinegar
The real lesson here is to get creative! Corn makes a sweet canvas to experiment with flavor combinations. Now grab your corn holders, or cut the kernels off the cob (an old trick from the days of having braces that still makes so much sense), and take a big bite of summer.
