Fruit of the Month: Rhubarb

Sat | May 01, 2021 | 10:30A–12P PT

Teacher Sasha Crehan

A warm welcome to our first Fruit of the Month: Rhubarb! (Yes, we know it is technically a vegetable.)
In this brand new fruit-focused series, Chef Sasha will teach us all about one glorious, in-season fruit each month. (If you live someplace where that fruit isn’t available, don’t fret: frozen fruit will serve you well). We aim to expand your fruit horizons up every orchard tree, around each berry thicket, and—as for this month—we’ll sneak over to the vegetable garden from time to time, too!
So, to rhubarb. Certain folks are always going on and on about their great love of rhubarb, but many cooks tell us they just don’t know what to do with it. Chef Sasha to the rescue! She’ll lead you in making the most charming Custard Yo-Yos with Roasted Rhubarb Icing. While they bake, you’ll learn to make Rhubarb Sauce and lots of ways to use it (cobblers or cocktails/mocktails or ice cream, anyone?)
