Holiday parties mean fancy appetizers. Big gatherings call for showstopping contributions. And overnight company revel in your homemade breakfast pastries. What do all these dishes have in common? Puff Pastry. Puff pastry is one of the most useful doughs in the kitchen, shapeshifting to fit any occasion.
Pie-vangelist Cathy Barrow, returning after last year's slab pie class, is here to teach us how to make homemade, super easy, positively delicious puff pastry. (Every attendee will make their own to take home.) Cathy will show us her game-changing, game-day stromboli for big parties. And we'll all make bakery-style beautiful breakfast pastries including pastry cream and streusel.
We will break from the baking action to enjoy dinner together - you’ll sit down with Cathy and your fellow students to enjoy a stromboli feast (with a vegetarian version, too), with wines, beers and non-alcoholic drinks. When class concludes, you'll depart with the book, puff pastry savvy & dough, and some bonus breakfast pastries to fortify your next kitchen adventures.
class notes:

Please note: This class is part demonstration, part hands-on cooking, and all puff pastry fun!
